2012 Art in Action Artists Visit Heather Hill School
Art in Action Artists provided artistic lessons for the young learners at Heather Hill School.
Though the school year is coming to a close, Heather Hill students continue to learn many valuable lessons. On Friday, May 18, 2012, three extremely talented Art in Action Artists provided artistic lessons for the young learners. Artist Jon W. Blake gave a presentation in photography. Mr. Blake compared his camera to the human eye. Students were intrigued by the similarities that they share with the camera and are very much interested in learning even more about photography. Artist Patricia Moor facilitated an interactive session in her area of expertise, which is painting. Students listened attentively, as she shared expert tips. Then students were given an opportunity to demonstrate their artistic talents. The phenomenal portraits that were created by Artist Lauren Pilot-Morrow simply amazed her eager pupils. Mrs. Morrow displayed various portraits that she created using a variety of art mediums. Because of this particular session, students are now anxious to begin their very own portfolios. They plan to begin this journey by using graphite, pastels and charcoal.
Mrs. Cynthia Turnquest is responsible for bringing these wonderfully talented artists to Heather Hill School. She is an active and dedicated member of the Heather Hill PTO, who continues to support students and staff in all areas, helping to ensure that all students become well rounded individuals.
