Flossmoor Hills Girls Share Their Soles.
Flossmoor Hills' GIRLS ON THE RUN program donates to SHARE YOUR SOLES organization.
Flossmoor Hills School has been participating in a national, after-school program for girls in 3rd through 5th grades called GIRLS ON THE RUN. The 12-week curriculum combines self-esteem and social skills lessons, with a train–to-run exercise program is voluntarily staffed by Flossmoor Hills. As a celebration for completing the program, Flossmoor Hills’ girls will join thousands of other Chicagoland girls on June 9th at Soldier Field for the Girls on the Run 5K Race! The program also includes a community service component. Fifth grader, Leah Brooks, is pictured collecting gently used shoes for Share Your Soles; a non-profit charitable organization servicing the needy here and abroad. Additional community services projects were completed to benefit the Ronald McDonald House, a women’s shelter and a nursing home!
Congratulations to the girls of Flossmoor Hills School for taking positive steps towards improving their minds and bodies and helping their community!
