Infant Jesus of Prague School Teacher Goes Above and Beyond to Ensure Learning
Junior High students of Infant Jesus of Prague School spent their day testing the water on Monday, October 29, 2012. (There was no disciplinary action necessary).
They partook in a lesson in which they tested the quality of water at the Flossmoor Country Club. The activity, although exotic for eighth graders, was traditional for students of science teacher, Ms. Nancy Mosher.
Mosher’s efforts for science excellence were captured in two National Blue Ribbon Awards for the school in 1999 and 2004. Her students’ proficiency in the scientific method was encapsulated at the Illinois State Science Fair with multiple gold medals going to IJP Students in February of 2012. She's known for her communication techniques and crossing into subjects such as mathematics to authenticate presentations.

Students utilized measuring tools, thermometers and sifting materials, many found wildlife such as crayfish and plants. They recorded findings and reported them to Mosher, who provided the results to the Country Club. Water was taken from Butterfield Creek.
