James Hart Poms Team Headed to State

Congratulations to the “Gold” Poms Team at James Hart School.  Their performance earned a first place finish at Team Dance Illinois’ Midwest Championship held February 10th at Plainfield East High School, with their routine scoring the highest of any in the competition.   As the winner of the scholastic hip-hop category, the Hart Junior High team also earned a bid to the state championship for high school dance teams next month.

 “This is a huge honor since only 10 youth teams in the state are invited to compete at this level,” said Poms Sponsor Amanda Townsend.

The James Hart “Maroon” Team also performed very well earning a third place finish in the novice hip-hop division.

Both the Gold and Maroon Teams brought home first place finishes in their respective categories at another competition on Saturday held at Eisenhower High School.

 “I’m so proud of the accomplishments of both our teams!  They have worked so hard and are building quite a reputation for themselves,” said Townsend.

The Gold Team will next compete at TDI’s Grand Finale Championship at Bradley University in Peoria on March 3rd.
