Third-inning rally sparks blowout win for HF-Force 18u, 15-3
An eight-run explosion in the third inning led Force to a 15-3 win in four innings over Rowdie Katz at USSSA No. IL State - Hodgkins on Saturday. Jessica Taylor racked up three RBIs on one hit for Force. She homered in the third inning. Rowdie Katz couldn't get anything going so long as Sarah Burke was on the hill. Rowdie Katz managed just one hit off of the Force's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out seven during her three innings of work. Force closer Katie Steinmetz put away the final three outs to record the save. Force didn't relinquish the lead after scoring three runs in the first inning when it scored on a two-run double by Liz Frassinone and a passed ball.
