HF-Force18u's third-inning burst enough to top Wheatland Spikes, 9-1
Force blew out Wheatland Spikes 9-1 on Saturday at USSSA No. IL State Hodgkins, IL after pouring on five runs in the third inning. Angela Roberts racked up three RBIs on one hit for Force. She tripled in the third inning. Katie Steinmetz shut down Wheatland Spikes while he was on the mound. Wheatland Spikes managed just three hits off of Steinmetz, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out three during her five innings of work. Force piled on four more runs in the top of the fifth. The inning looked promising, as Jessica Taylor singled, plating Jocelyn Velazquez and Sydney Battle to kick things off. That was followed up by Liz Frassinone's single, scoring Sam Donermeyer.
