St. Joseph Parish School Celebrates United Nations Day

The Student Council at St. Joseph Parish School in Homewood involved the entire school in its Event of the Month to celebrate United Nations Day on October 24, the anniversary of the Charter of the United Nations. Each classroom from preschool through eighth grade was asked to pick a country and decorate their door in honor of that country.

United Nations Day has been being celebrated globally since 1947, when the UN General Assembly declared that October 24, “shall be devoted to making known to the peoples of the world the aims and achievements of the United Nations and to gaining their support for its work.”
