Top Ten Reasons to Attend the Open House for David Danzmayr on Sunday the 26th of August at 3PM at Lincoln-Way North
A possibly comical set of reasons for why people should come to this special Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra event.

10. Get to talk to him and hear if his Austrian accent sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger’s or if he has some Scottish mixed in there (a la Craig Ferguson) from his time conducting there.
9. Find out if he wants to be called “dah VEED” or “DAY vid”

7. Get to be seated up *on stage* like a big-shot performer (if you are among the first 150 to attend)
6. Find out if David plans to program your favorite piece on any future Illinois Philharmonic seasons. (Or tell him why he *should* program it.)
5. Find out if David plans to program your least favorite piece in any future Illinois Philharmonic seasons. (Then you can try to talk him out of it.)
4. Ask David if he would talk about music and the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra to your Southland group in the upcoming year. (Or just ask him for a travelogue of his recent vacation in Portugal.)
3. Hear some neat chamber music by Mozart, Chopin, and Haydn played by David and his colleagues from the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra including concertmaster Hal Grossman who has a big solo this season in the Vaughn Williams “The Lark Ascending”*

2. Did I mention that all this was FREE. And you will even be able to pick up materials on the new Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra season which finishes with the Beethoven 9th Symphony on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. (Now wouldn’t Mom love that as a gift!)
1. You could tell your friends that you met David when he was a just a young conductor in the Southland “with a bullet” (no that doesn’t mean that he’s packing heat—it means that he’s a rising star like one of those Billboard songs) before he became the leader of the “Superdooper Symphony Orchestra” in “Big Deal Metropolis” in 2020.
0) Whoops, I almost forgot that you will also get to meet the new Executive Director of the Illinois Philharmonic, Andrew Bradford, who also could talk to your civic group about the IPO or do a Travelogue about the Kennedy Center where he trained. Unlike David, Andrew will NOT volunteer to rehearse your high-school's student orchestra. (But you could ask David.)
