Shop and Dine for a Cause with the Cancer Support Center sponsored by the Homewood Business Association
Shop and Dine for a Cause at participating Homewood Business Association businesses on May 28th , 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
The Homewood Business Association (HBA), a 501(c)(3) organization, is proud to announce that the Cancer Support Center (CSC) has been selected as the recipient of its 2026 community fundraiser ‘Shop and Dine for a Cause’. This annual initiative brings together local businesses and the community to support a Homewood‑based not‑for‑profit organization.
Participating HBA retailers and restaurants will donate 10% of each purchase directly to the Cancer Support Center. Shoppers and diners must indicate at checkout that their purchase is in support of CSC for the donation to apply.
This fundraiser is designed to raise funds and awareness for the Cancer Support Center all while expanding visibility and strengthening the impact of both nonprofit organizations within the community.
“We’re so excited and grateful to be selected by the Homewood Business Association as the beneficiary of the Shop and Dine for a Cause fundraiser,” said Kristen Kolwelter, Executive Director of the Cancer Support Center. “This feel‑good community initiative helps us keep doing what we love—providing welcoming, supportive programs at no cost for anyone impacted by cancer.”
How to Participate? Shop, stamp, and win! Pick-up your passport at participating businesses. Visit participating locations to collect stamps with each purchase. Drop off your passport at your final stop for a chance to win HBA gift cards worth over $150—more stamps mean more chances to win!
*Participants must mention they are shopping or dining in support of the Cancer Support Center for the donation to be applied.
Representatives from the Cancer Support Center will be at select stores from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to share programming information such as nutrition support, art therapy, and counseling. These programs and more are part of CSC’s six Pillars and are offered at no cost to anyone impacted by cancer: Child and Family Programs; Counseling and Stress Management; Fitness and Physical Wellness; Education and Networking; and Body Image Assistance.

About the Cancer Support Center:
The Cancer Support Center provides free emotional, educational, and practical support to anyone impacted by cancer—at any stage of the journey. With locations in Homewood and Mokena, along with virtual programming, the Center ensures individuals and families can access care wherever they are.
Through a comprehensive range of evidence-based services including, counseling, support groups, nutrition and wellness programs, educational workshops, and resources for children, families, and caregivers, the Cancer Support Center addresses the full scope of the cancer experience. Programs are led by licensed professionals and experienced subject matter experts, creating a trusted space for connection, healing, and empowerment.
