The Cancer Support Center hosts Casablanca Gala on April 22

The Cancer Support Center will host its Annual Spring Gala at the historic Olympia Fields Country Club, 2800 Country Club Drive, Olympia Fields, IL 60461. This is one of the signature events for The Center each year and includes a celebration of cancer survivors, food and drink, a silent auction, live entertainment, a casino, and more. This year's Gala is inspired by the classic film Casablanca, and this elegant affair will come with lots of Hollywood flair!

Cocktail hour will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. The After Party gets started with entertainment and a casino at 9 p.m. Attending the Casablanca Gala is $125 per person or $75 for the Casino after-party beginning a 9 p.m., including $50 casino cash, light bites, and two

During cocktail hour, attendees will be able to mingle with the other guests and have their chance to bid on a wide array of silent auctions and raffle prizes offered throughout the night. The After Party will feature music by crooner Blake Alexander to set the tone and take you back in time with his exciting arrangements of old standards. This is the first Gala in CSC's history to include a casino component, where guests can play various classic games like roulette and blackjack and win exciting prizes.

At the Gala, The Cancer Support Center will present The Horton Group with the Founders Award. The Founders Award acknowledges and honors individuals who embody the commitment, passion, ambassadorship, vision, and community of the six founders of The Cancer Support Center.

"The Horton Group is excited and honored to receive the Founders Award. It's special for us to be recognized by the CSC," said Bob DeChene, member of the Board of Directors and Senior VP at The
Horton Group. "Our employees, family, and friends have all benefited from the services and programs provided by the Center. Having a Center in our community is great."

Due to mitigation guidelines throughout the pandemic, The Center could not host large-scale events like this one in person. After two long years, The Center's staff is excited to welcome friends, donors, and community members to gather together again. "We are so excited to bring our friends and supporters together this year in such a grant and festive way at this year's Gala," said Sue Armato, Executive Director. "The Center continued to provide our life-changing and saving programs throughout the pandemic to serve those battling cancer. This event is one of those amazing times where we gather together in hope and belief in the mission of The Center and all it does to help those through challenging days!"

The Center has two locations, 19645 S. LaGrange Road, Mokena, Illinois 60448, and 2028 Elm Road, Homewood, Illinois 60430, and serves participants throughout Illinois with virtual programs and telehealth counseling and support groups. The Center is a 501c3 organization, and all oncology-supportive programs are provided free of charge to participants.
