Car In Homewood Carjacking Found In Harvey

Police say the Honda Civic that was stolen by a group of three men who beat up the owner in Homewood was unoccupied when found.

HARVEY, IL - The car that was stolen from the Homewood man who was attacked and carjacked in his own driveway hast week has been found. The vehicle, a 2012 Honda Civic, was found in Harvey according to Homewood police.

Police said the assault and carjacking was reported just after 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 in the 17600 block of Briar Avenue.

At first, the victim was approached by one man who grabbed him from behind while armed with a handgun. But when the victim broke free and started to run toward his house, he was confronted by two other men who got out of a car parked on the street to help the offender.

The three "knocked the victim to the ground punching and kicking the victim until he gave up his personal property, including the keys to his vehicle," police said.

Police say the car was unoccupied when found on Oct. 19 and endured no significant damage while it was gone.
