Chevrolet of Homewood's Annual USO BBQ for the Troops is Around the Corner
The dealership hosts annual barbeque to give back to the USO
It's grilling season, and Chevrolet of Homewood is lighting theirs up for a cause- raising money for the United Service Organizations, or USO. For the 12th year, the dealership will be hosting their annual USO BBQ for the Troops at their dealership, with all proceeds going directly to the USO.
The USO is a nonprofit that provides support for service members and their families, starting with enrollment and carrying on through their transition back to civilian life. Seth Britton, a Salesman at Chevrolet of Homewood and retired U.S. Army SSrgt., says of the USO, "The USO does so much to help active and retired military and their families, but one of the most significant contributions is being a consistent source of comfort and familiarity during our time as Active Duty. ... The USO is able to provide comfort for soldiers through mail and care packages with basic essentials and letters and cards from thousands of schools, veterans, and civilians as a way to say 'Thank You' and remind the men and women on domestic and foreign soil that they are thought of and that they matter."
This year's event will take place on Saturday, July 12th, from 11-2 at Chevrolet of Homewood (18033 S. Halsted St., Homewood). The dealership will have live music, raffles and food available in the North Lot. Donations can be made during the event or online here.
