Chicago Heights Man Caught Driving Stolen Car: Blotter

SUNDAY, JULY 26
Criminal Trespass to Vehicle
Paris Rivera, 19, of the 900 block of East 104th Street, Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to vehicle and driving without a license after being stopped driving a stolen car, according to Homewood police reports.

Police ran a registration check on the vehicle Rivera was driving around noon, July 26, in the 1100 block of Birch Road, the report stated. The check flagged the vehicle as stolen out of Chicago, and the officer followed Rivera to the 18300 block of May Avenue, the report added.
Rivera parked in front of and then entered the May Avenue residence, the report stated. He was taken into custody once he came back outside, the report added.

SUNDAY, JULY 19
DUI
Johnnie Lenzy Jr., 46, of the 100 block of West Craig Drive, Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol level over the legal limit, driving with a suspended license and improper lane use after a July 19 traffic stop, according to Homewood police reports.
Police responded to a report at about 12:29 a.m. of a pickup truck in the lawn of a residence in the 1100 block of Holbrook Road, the report stated. When an officer arrived, Lenzy was trying to move his truck off the lawn, the report added.
Lenzy told the officer that he made a U-turn and that’s how he ended up in the grass, the report stated. While talking with Lenzy, the officer detected an alcohol odor coming from the driver’s breath and from inside his truck, the report added.
SATURDAY, JULY 18
Retail Theft
Pamela David, 60, of the 3500 block of East Williams Street, Steger, was arrested and charged with retail theft after being accused of stealing items from Jewel Osco, 3153 W. 183rd St., according to Homewood police reports.
A store employee noticed David pushing a cart filled with merchandise out of the store without paying for them July 18, the report stated.
