Clock Tower Restoration Effort Begins in Flossmoor
Volunteers hope to have the clock tower working by Flossmoor Fest 2017.
FLOSSMOOR, IL -- A plan to restore the clock tower in downtown Flossmoor now has the backing of the mayor and a plan to make it happen.
The Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle reported that Mayor Paul Braun announced a restoration plan at the most recent village board meeting. He indicated the project to get the clock working again would cost about $10,000 and an event will be held this summer to help raise money for it.
“The clock tower has been a part of the Flossmoor downtown area for over 90 years and restoration of the clocks will enhance the charm and beauty of our community,” Braun told the Chronicle.

The effort was started by Walter McBride, a former resident of Flossmoor. A committee formed by a handful of volunteers will help move it forward.
