Customers Ordered To Lie Down, Clerk Robbed At Thornton 7-Eleven
One of four robbers who fled the 7-Eleven in Thornton early Tuesday morning was armed with a gun.

THORNTON, IL - Four people, one of them armed, robbed a clerk at the 7-Eleven convenience store in Thornton just after midnight Tuesday. Thornton police say one of the suspects showed a handgun inside the Margaret Street store and demanded money from the employee while the other three took cash and other store items. During the robbery, police said two customers were ordered to lie down on the floor.
No one was injured during the robbery as the suspects all fled toward Williams Street. Police responded but determined all the suspects had already left the area.
This is the latest in a string of armed robberies reported in the south suburbs lately, including one in Hickory Hills in which an employee was ordered to lie down on the floor.
