Did I get enough done today?

Dear Reader,

Instead of asking, “Did I get enough done today?” try asking yourself, “Did I treat myself like someone I love today?”

So many of us (myself included) tend to measure the value of a day by the tasks we complete, the emails we answer, or the boxes we check. It is easy to fall into the belief that our worth is tied to our productivity.

But love does not measure people that way. When you care deeply about someone, you want them to rest when they are tired. You want them to eat nourishing food. You want them to take a walk outside, laugh with a friend, and move through the day with kindness toward themselves. You do not demand constant output from them. You offer patience, encouragement, and understanding.

What if you extended that same compassion inward to yourself?

At the end of the day, instead of auditing your accomplishments, pause and reflect on how you treated yourself. Did you listen to your body when it needed a break? Did you speak to yourself with gentleness instead of criticism? Did you give yourself moments of quiet, nourishment, or joy?

These small acts of care matter more than we often realize. When we treat ourselves with the same kindness we offer others, we create the conditions for love and well-being.

Productivity will come and go. Some days will be full. Others will be slow. But the way you relate to yourself is something you practice every single day.

Today, ask yourself, “Did I treat myself like someone I love? If the answer is yes, that day was enough.

With love and gratitude,
Liz

Try This | As the seasons change, the foods growing around us begin to shift as well. Eating seasonally helps the body stay in rhythm with nature and supports digestion. Some great spring foods are:

  • Kiwi | digestion + immune support
  • Arugula | immune support + heart health
  • Lemon | digestion + liver support
  • Spinach | cleansing + nervous system support
  • Strawberries | anti-inflammatory + skin health
  • Spring onion | gut support + immune support
  • Artichoke | liver support + detoxification
  • Orange | nervous system support + immune support
  • Radish | digestion + immune support
  • Broccoli | liver support + metabolism support
  • Pineapple | digestion + reduces inflammation

What is one small way you could show yourself kindness today?
