District 153 Programs to Help Keep Your Kids Busy this Summer

District 153 once again will offer programming to help keep your kids active and engaged this summer, but time is running out to register! Visit the school district's virtual backpack for all the details including registration fees.

For the Budding Artist and/or Performer:
Summer Visual & Performing Arts Day Camp, July 9-July 5
Register by May 23

For kids entering 3rd through 9th grades, the program involves a variety of musical theater and art workshops/projects. Kids in the theater camp will develop performance skills culminating in the public performance of the family favorite, Cinderella.

Art camp participants will create projects using various media such as paint, clay, fabric, and ink/printmaking.  All artwork will be showcased at a final day salon.

Best of all, children can participate in both programs, if they want to!

Summer Choir Camp, July 21-August 1

Participants (entering grades 7,8, or 9) will learn a 40-minute show of song and dance.  The show this summer will feature the music of Taylor Swift, Michael Jackson, the Beatles, Bruno Mars and the Jackson Five.

For the Budding Athlete:
Homewood Hoops Boys and Girls Basketball Clinic, July 14-18
Register by June 27

Open to kids in grades 5-8, this clinic will help participants improve their skills, experience game play, and learn good sportsmanship and teamwork.
