Dog Days of Summer Set for This Weekend
Homewood's annual summer bash kicks off Saturday, August 16 at 10 a.m.

Homewood’s beloved Dog Days of Summer is set for August 16, with a full slate of music, fun, and more.
Start the day with your dog in the Pooch Parade at 11 a.m. Show off their tricks and your creative side in the Terrific Tricks and Most Humorous Divisions, and try for Best in Parade.
Next up, it’s the kids’ turn. Entertainer Super Stolie will deliver a performance of her Kindie Rock at 1 p.m. at the event stage on Ridge Road.

Classic rock band Funkhouser will then take the stage at 2:30 p.m., with covers of songs from Rolling Stones, The Cure, Weezer and more. The entertainment continues with Maggie Speaks, set to perform from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
And don’t forget South Suburban Humane Society’s annual Pup Crawl, which begins at Dog Days at 2 p.m. and will make its way to several Homewood establishments. Preregistration is $25, and includes a drink ticket and t-shirt. Check the website for more.
