Felony Retail Theft
Gregory Conrad, 51, of the 600 block of 131st Street, Riverdale, was arrested and charged with felony retail theft after being accused trying to shoplift a $29.99 sweatshirt from Pep Boys, 18024 S. Halsted St., according to Homewood police reports.

Felony Retail Theft
Detrice Smith, 42, of the 1500 block of Greenwood Avenue, Ford Heights, was arrested and charged with felony retail theft after being accused of trying to shoplift more than $100 worth of merchandise from Menards, 17545 S. Halsted St., according to Homewood police reports.

THURSDAY, MARCH 10
Retail Theft
Leroy Burton, 60, of the 16500 block of Emerald Avenue, Harvey, was arrested and charged with retail theft after being accused of trying to shoplift more than $85 worth of merchandise through the self-checkout lane of Home Depot, 17845 S. Halsted St., according to Homewood police reports.
DUI
Renee Harris, 43, of the 18700 block of Royal Road, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content over the legal limit, driving with an invalid license, driving without insurance and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident after a minor two-car crash March 10 in the 1600 block of Ridge Road, according to Homewood police reports.
A witness told police Harris was traveling westbound on Ridge Road at a high rate of speed when she hit an unoccupied vehicle parked on the street, the report stated. At the scene, police reported that Harris appeared to be intoxicated.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9
DUI
Henry Collins, 42, of the 900 block of 166th Place, was arrested and charged for driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit, illegally squealing his tires and driving with an expired registration after a March 9 traffic stop, according to Homewood police reports.
Police pulled over Collins at about 2:35 p.m. after he was seen squealing and smoking his rear tires as he turned his red 1966 Ford Fairlne southbound onto Dixie Highway from 183rd Street, the report stated. During the stop, Collins appeared to be intoxicated, and he failed field sobriety tests, the report added.
