Art and Garden Street Fair and Presidents Art Contest runs on Friday, June 17, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday, June 18, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This highlighted two-day event in the Midwest Art Fair Journal will feature: hundreds of original works and unique finds by artisans and vendors; live music performances and other performance art groups; children's activity tent; plant-your-own garden projects; onsite antique & collectible appraisals; professional family photographs.
Friday's format offers a lively, nighttime atmosphere with a full schedule of live entertainment and dance opportunities, featuring Rio Bamba (lyrics and melodies of Bossa Nova). Sip margaritas and dine on festive foods served by Cilantro Cucino Restaurant and Aurelio's Pizza.
Saturday embodies all of the rich features of an outdoor, cultural experience for art admirers and buyers of all levels. The Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra's Brass Quintet will perform during the day and Latin Satin Soul, a popular band at the Taste of Chicago, will close out the evening.

Calling All Amateur Artists! The Annual President’s Art Contest will be held in conjunction with the Art and Garden Street Fair (Saturday only). Amateur artists of all ages are invited to submit artwork in 2-D and 3-D mediums, such as photography, oils, watercolors, charcoal sketches, sculptures, jewelry and more. The subject matter is limitless; however, all entries must depict something about life in Homewood.
