This spring, Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center in Olympia Fields will celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Earth Day with a free community festival on April 21, 2012.
Earth Day @ the Oaks will include green exhibitors, guided hikes, hands-on nature activities, nature stories, art projects and entertainers like naturalist David Stokes, folksinger Anna Stange and “edu-tainer” Ricky Recycle - each with their own environmental message.
Visitors can also enjoy a hot dog lunch, make s'mores over a campfire, climb a tower a tall as a maple tree and view the Trash Creature exhibit.
