Live and Silent Auction to Benefit Homewood-Flossmoor Symphony Orchestra Tour to Brazil

Support student musicians and the fine arts in the South suburbs -- and sample delicious Brazilian food and hear great live music -- at the Homewood-Flossmoor Symphony Orchestra's Tour to Brazil Live and Silent Auction, on Saturday, January 21, at H-F High School's South Building cafeteria.

The auction is the culmination of months of fundraising efforts by H-F students and their families to support the orchestra's upcoming performance tour to Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is the first time in 30+ years that H-F students have gone on tour to South America. The tour will take place March 23 - April 1, 2012.

Items available for bidding at the auction will include gift baskets; club memberships; jewelry; golf outings; gift certificates for restaurants, businesses and services; clothing; electronics; travel and entertainment packages...and much more.

H-F is the only high school in Illinois that sends its music students on international tours annually. Last year the H-F Symphonic Band went to Spain and Morocco.

Students have been working since last summer on numerous fundraising and service projects; they operated the lunch service at H-F’s summer school; performed (and sold pies) at Homewood’s French Market during the summer and fall; raked leaves; and engaged in numerous additional service and fundraising projects.
