Flossmoor Home Ransacked, Stripped of More than $13,000 in Goods
A thief escaped with jewelry, designer shoes, technology and more after breaking into a home Tuesday.

A Flossmoor home was ransacked Tuesday, and the thief escaped with thousands of dollars in shoes, jewelry and other valuables.
Almost $10,000 worth of jewelry, $3,000 worth of designer shoes and other items were taken Oct. 28 from a house in the 19000 block of Hamlin Avenue, according to Flossmoor police reports.
At the scene, police noticed the lock on the house’s main entrance storm door damaged, and the main door’s frame was broken, the report stated, adding that the burglars entered the home between 9:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 28. Inside, rooms were in disarray on the second and first floors of the house, as well as the basement, the report stated.

Some of the items taken included:
- three pairs of red-sole, Christian Louboutin high heels, valued at about $1,000 a pair
- a 24-carat-gold, double-face coin ring with gold nuggets, valued at about $3,000 to $5,000
- three Michael Kors watches, valued at about $276 each
- a Tiffany & Co. necklace with eight pendants, valued at about $500 for the necklace and $200 for each pendant
- a Movado black watch, valued at about $500
- an unknown number of Michael Kors purses, valued at about $300 to $500 each
- two iPads
- two laptop computers
- three flat-screen TVs of various sizes
Officers canvassed the neighborhood at the time, and investigators are continuing to look into the burglary.
