Ford of Homewood is Grilling with a Goal
The dealership is hosting their annual USO BBQ for the Troops to raise money for the USO
Ford of Homewood does more than just sell cars- the longtime staple in the Homewood community is committed to giving back. The dealership hosts several different events throughout the year, but their biggest is their annual barbeque for the United Service Organizations, or the USO. Complete with grilling and raffles, this year's USO BBQ for the Troops promises to be a success, with all proceeds going directly to the USO.
The USO is a nonprofit organization that provides support for service members and their families, starting with enlistment and carrying on through their transition back to civilian life. Mary Boersma, a Ford of Homewood employee and the main coordinator of the barbeque, says of the USO BBQ for the Troops: "I love being able to give back to our troops. My family being in the military... it's just near and dear to my heart. It's a great cause, and a great way to get the community together."
This year's event will take place on Saturday, July 12th, from 11-2 at Ford of Homewood (3233 W. 183rd St., Homewood). The dealership will have a DJ, raffles and food available. Donations can be made during the event or online here.
