Governors Highway To Close For 2 Months
Crews will replace cross culverts for two months on the thoroughfare in Flossmoor.
FLOSSMOOR, IL -- Governors Highway will be closed between 183rd Street and Flossmoor Road for an estimated two months beginning Wednesday as crews replace two cross culverts under the road near the Homewood-Flossmoor High School driveway, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced in a news release.
A detour in place will direct southbound traffic to go west on 183rd and south on Kedzie Avenue while northbound traffic will take the reverse route, according to IDOT. Delays are expected in the area throughout the project's completion.
The closure is expected to be lifted on Aug. 11.
