Hazelnut Festival This Saturday

Hazelnut Festival This Saturday At Municipal Grounds Pre-Festival Parade Steps Off At 11 AM

HAZEL CREST — Hazel Crest Village President Vernard Alsberry Jr. is reminding all Hazel Crest that our annual Hazelnut Festival will be held this Saturday, August 8th at the Village Municipal Center Grounds. Prior to the opening of the festival, the annual Hazelnut parade will kick off at 11:00 AM from 183rd & Fountainbleau and travel over Kedzie Avenue to reach 171st & California.

“Our annual Hazelnut Festival will be held next to the Village Hall as usual and I hope to see all of my friends and neighbors this year. Please join us all for a day full of good company, good food, games, arts, crafts and entertainment appropriate for all family members. We have special activities for children to keep them happy and busy,” said Alsberry. “We have entertainment lined up that is appropriate for all age groups. This year we will be enjoying the sounds of Hip Hop Artist D’Low, the BLT & Friends Clean Comedy Show, Delivery Point R&B Band, In Flight Jazz Band, Casper the Slide King and the Ultimate Concept Band”.

Alsberry emphasized that the Hazel Crest Star Search show will give Hazel Crest residents a chance to showcase their skills and talents.

“We are still looking for Hazel Crest’s hidden talents to participate in our Star Search Talent Show, so don’t be shy and share your God given talents for your neighbors to enjoy. The first stop may be Hazel Crest and the next stop may be American Idol,” said Alsberry.
