HFPD Receives Grant To Hire Youth This Summer

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District (HFPD) is one of 83 IAPD member agencies that received grant money to hire youth this summer under the Illinois Youth Recreation Corps program. The Recreation Department received $10,350 and the Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center received $36,288 in grant money to hire summer staff.

The HFPD is seeking prospective employees to hire immediately for summer programming. To qualify for employment, candidates must be 16 - 18 years of age and not currently working for the park district. To apply, please visit hfparks.com and apply for the Grant Youth Job Corps position under the employment section of the website. If you have any questions, please contact the Goldberg Center at 708-957-0300.

The summer youth program continues to be successful because park districts and other local park and recreation agencies provide valuable training and work experience to so many youth while also expanding the programming that is available to other youth during the summer months.

The 83 IAPD members will be receiving more than $4.5 Million to hire 1,500 youth this summer under the Illinois Youth Recreation Corps program.

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District would like to thank Governor Quinn and IDNR Director Mark Miller for their commitment to this program.
