Hillcrest HS Culinary Students Prepare Thanksgiving Feast

Family traditions helped to develop the menu

Hillcrest High School’s Introduction to Culinary Arts students put their culinary skills to the test and prepared a complete Thanksgiving feast. The students planned out and developed their menu based on different family traditions. The students enjoyed being creative and showing off their amazing culinary skills. They were basting, measuring ingredients and utilizing proper carving skills. They dined on potato casserole, juicy ham, greens, corn, and sweet banana pudding. Every culinary student was stuffed after working diligently to became part of the crew that prepared this mouthwatering meal.

At the table, each student shared what they are thankful for in their own lives. Together, as a Hillcrest family, we were thankful for the wonderful friends and family right in front of us. Kayla Green surprised everyone by providing to-go containers for each student to share their meal with a loved one. “The students enthusiasm and curiosity in planning the meal made getting out of bed at the crack of dawn well worth my time!” said Mrs. Michelle Youngberg, Hillcrest High School Culinary Arts Teacher.
