The Hillcrest High School HAWKS program, (Have hope, Act with integrity, Work together, Keep on task, Show respect) created a “Thankful” tree. All students and staff involved in HAWKS traced their hand and inscribed something significant which they are thankful for. “The hands represent the leaves that hold our HAWKS family together, as well as a reminder of what we are individually thankful for in our lives,” said Mrs. Tracy Safarik, HAWKS sponsor. The students see their individuality as well as their part of the larger group dynamic. The display will remain up for a month and anyone who visits the HAWKS room is welcome to add their own “Hand of Thanks” to our tree.
