Hillcrest HS Hosts 'Meet the Teacher Night'
Families learn about all the opportunities available for students

The purpose of this exciting night was to provide a time for parents to meet their child’s teachers, review expectations, make connections, learn about resources and programs, and open the lines of communication for the school year. “This occasion is a great start to build a culture of involvement that must be nurtured and prioritized,” stated Mrs. Renee Simms, Hillcrest principal. “The evening’s event between teachers and parents was an opportune time to work on building trust and understanding between the home and school environments. We are all working for a common goal - student success and achievement,” said Simms. The School and Community Relations Committee worked hard to organize this great event. Aside from the teachers, students and parents in attendance, we also had many ancillary staff and board members present, along with tutoring companies, mentoring programs and university representatives. This is an exciting beginning to the 2014/2015 school year.
