Hillcrest HS's Young Life Mentoring Program
Students discuss relevant issues, set goals, and learn to make positive choices

Young Life Mentoring wrapped up the first semester with a huge party. The students made t-shirts, took professional pictures, and celebrated with music, food, and drink. Young Life is an international organization that facilitates a Hillcrest club meeting every Monday. Hillcrest is the only high school in the south suburban area to have a club facilitated by the high school. Young Life’s mantra is “Party with a Purpose.” It provides students a safe, structured environment to discuss relevant issues, set goals, and learn to make positive choices. The students have the opportunity to attend camps and get involved in the community.
“I’m very proud of our students for setting a positive example, and I’m impressed by our growing number of members!” said Lauren White, Hillcrest High School Social Worker. “Young Life helps you live in the now, helps you understand consequences, and puts things into perspective,” said Hillcrest student Queniqua Brooks. Hillcrest is very grateful for Ms. Kim, Mr. Jamiar, and their Young Life crew for being a consistent positive example to our students.
