Homewood Hosts Lighthouse Pride Party June 28

The Village of Homewood is hosting its 3rd annual Lighthouse LGBTQ+ Pride Party June 28.

HOMEWOOD, IL — The Village of Homewood will be hosting its 3rd annual Lighthouse LGBTQ+ Pride Party in June.

This is the first time Homewood is hosting the party while celebrating Pride during the month of June with rainbow flags decorating the downtown area. The Homewood Business Association is sponsoring the commemorative flag program.

The Lighthouse Pride Party starts at 5 p.m., Fri., June 28 in Martin Ave. Square with music beginning at 6:30 p.m. with members of the Homewood Flossmoor High School singing a variety of songs from musicals. The Eppersons will perform their mellow, crowd-pleasing hits at 7 p.m., and The Lakeside Pride Ukulele Ensemble closes the evening with its 8 p.m. performance.

Lighthouse Pride Party also will feature free activities for all ages, including hair spray color sponsored by Jonathan Kane, face painting sponsored by John Harrell State Farm Insurance, and a rainbow craft sponsored by The Village of Homewood. Cookie decorating, sponsored by Panda Baby, is available with a donation to Lighthouse.

Food vendors include: Cilantro, Mae’s Que House Food Truck, Empanadus, Sno Daze Tropical Sno, The Sunshine Kitchen, Aurelio’s Pizza, Panda Cookies, and LaVoute Bistro and Bar.

Proceeds from the flag sales benefit Lighthouse LGBTQ and the Homewood Business Association. All proceeds from the Lighthouse Pride Party go to Lighthouse LGBTQ+.

Lighthouse LGBTQ+ provides free support for teens & young adults in the South Suburbs who are processing their sexual & gender identity. Lighthouse also provides special programming throughout the year for members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies.

The third annual Lighthouse LGBTQ+ Pride Party will be held Fri., June 28 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Martin Ave. Square as part of Homewood’s Pride Month Celebration. The Lighthouse Pride Party is free and open to the public. More information is at www.HomeSweetHomewood.com
