Homewood Police Warn of Great Lakes Bank Phone Scam

The scam targets customers of Great Lakes Bank, through a phone call reporting their debit card has been compromised.

On August 20, the Homewood Police Department was made aware of a telephone scam which affects customers of Great Lakes Bank. The scam is perpetrated by an automated telephone call that advises the customer that their debit card has been compromised. The message then requires the customer to follow the prompts to handle the situation.

Great Lakes Bank was contacted and confirmed that this is a scam. Police advise anyone who receives a similar call to hang up the phone and not provide any information.
