Homewood Resident Authors Article in Illinois Bar Journal

Article is published in the September issue of state bar magazine

Richard J. VanSwol of Homewood, an attorney at Purcell & Wardrope, Chtd., in Chicago, is the author of “The U.S. Supreme Court Says ‘No’ to Cell-Phone Searches Incident to Arrest,an article which appears in the September 2014 issue of the Illinois Bar Journal, the monthly magazine of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA).

Insurance policies don’t indemnify insureds who cause intentional or expected harm. In the article, the author reviews cases and give examples of what is “intentional” or “expected.”

The 33,000-member ISBA (isba.org), with offices in Springfield and Chicago, provides professional services to Illinois lawyers, and education and services to the public through a website (illinoislawyerfinder.com), consumer brochures, and distribution of legal information.
