Homewood Woman, 51, Found Shot To Death ID'd: Medical Examiner

The woman was found fatally shot Saturday afternoon. Police said a homicide investigation is underway.

HOMEWOOD, IL — A woman found shot to death inside a Homewood residence Saturday has been identified, according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records.

Homewood police on Saturday afternoon officers responded to a residence in the 2400 block of 175th Street, after reports of an unresponsive female.

Police at the scene found a deceased woman inside the residence with what appeared to be a gunshot wound, police said. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office on Sunday morning identified the woman as Bianca Davis, 51, of the same address where the incident was reported.

The Homewood Police Department's criminal investigations unit is conducting a homicide investigation with the assistance of the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, officials said.

Based on the facts and information gathered so far, investigators believe the shooting to be an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the public, police said.
