Illinois Tollway and Illinois State Police District 15 Host Kids safety Event at the Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis this Saturday

July 25 event offers free kids' ID cards and safety seat inspections

In an effort to keep children safe and parents worry-free this summer, the Illinois Tollway and Illinois State Police District 15 are hosting a free Kids Identification and Safety Seat (K.I.S.S.) event at the Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-80).  Parents, grandparents and caregivers are invited to stop by and create free kids’ identification cards and get help with child safety seat inspections.

The free K.I.S.S. event will be held on Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis on I-294/I-80 at milepost 1 in South Holland.  Child safety seat inspections will take place in the parking lot on the southbound side of the oasis and kids’ ID card processing will take place inside the oasis pavilion accessible from parking lots on both sides.

The event will feature an Illinois State Police District 15 K-9 demonstration at noon, as well as an Illinois State Police motorcycle. A South Holland Fire Department fire truck will visit between 11 a.m. and 1p.m. Kids also can clib aboard a Highway Emergency Lane Patrol (H.E.L.P.) truck and get behind the wheel of a 26-ton Illinois Tollway snowplow at the Tollway’
