After learning Metra’s proposed changes to the rush hour Metra Electric Line, the Village of Flossmoor is taking a stance against these changes because of the significant impact they will have on our residential commuters.

Metra made it clear that they will listen to the feedback of their riders.

We need all residents, not only commuters, to respond to Metra’s survey to show the magnitude of our opposition. There is strength in numbers and collectively we can demonstrate the need for Metra to reconsider this proposal.

Here is how these proposed changes are expected to impact Flossmoor commuters:

Proposed Inbound changes

  • Reduction in the number of trains from Flossmoor to the Millennium Station from 11 to 10
  • Reduction in the number of stops from Flossmoor to 59th Street from 8 to 3
  • No change in the number of 55th/56th/57th station stops
  • Reduction in the number of 59th station stops system wide from 14 to 3
  • Reduction from 5 trains to 0 trains that are "first on" in Flossmoor

Proposed Outbound changes

  • Increase in the number of trains to Flossmoor from Millennium Station from 8 to 9
  • No impact on the number of 59th station stops
  • Maintaining 7 stops from 55th/56th/57th station to Flossmoor but a reduction from 4 to 2 during the rush hours of 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Reduction from 5 trains to 0 trains that are "last stop" in Flossmoor

Please review the new schedule and submit your feedback to Metra via the survey.
