Metra is proposing changes to the Metra Electric schedule that will impact rush hour trains from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays. The changes are being proposed to accommodate Positive Train Control, a federally mandated safety control system that will stop a train if an engineer exceeds a speed limit or fails to obey a signal. The proposed changes include changes to the departure and arrival times and include changes to the number of stops. For Flossmoor, the total travel time to and from Millennium Station will decrease. However, there are changes to stops along the line, including stops in Hyde Park at 59th Street and 55th-56th-57th. Please review the new schedule and submit your feedback to Metra via the survey link: https://metrarail.com/electric2020. The deadline to submit feedback is March 1.
