Liz's Mindful Mondays: Weekly Reflections + Inspiration from the Heart of Serendipity Yoga and Wellness

Dear Reader,
In yoga and many other ancient traditions, the heart chakra (anahata) is the energetic center of love, compassion, connection, and balance. Located at the center of the chest and extending down the arms into the hands and fingers, it is believed that this chakra bridges the physical and spiritual, the self and others. It teaches us that true strength comes from an open heart, not a guarded one.
In our daily lives, the state of our heart chakra shapes how we relate to the world around us. When balanced, we feel connected — able to give and receive love freely, express empathy, forgive more easily, and cultivate kindness toward ourselves. When this energy center is blocked, we may experience loneliness, resentment, isolation, or difficulty trusting others.

The heart chakra reminds us that we are not meant to walk through life alone or disconnected. Every time we pause to offer a kind word, hold space for a friend, or even show gentleness to ourselves, we nourish this vital energy center. And in doing so, we create ripples of healing in the world around us.
Today, take a few moments to close your eyes, place your hand over your heart, and breathe into the warmth beneath your palm. Ask yourself: “Where can I soften? Where can I offer myself or others a bit more compassion today?”

This small act of awareness helps to keep your heart open and your practice alive, both on and off the mat.
With an open heart,
Liz
