Resisting Police At White Castle, Retail Thefts: Homewood Blotter

The latest reports from the Homewood Police Department include a DUI from a traffic crash at 175th and Halsted.

Criminal Damage to Property

Jeremiah Nesbitt, 28, Chicago Heights was charged with criminal damage to property and resisting/obstructing a peace officer at White Castle, 18250 S. Halsted at 8:43 a.m. on Dec. 3. Nesbitt broke a coffee and resisted efforts to place him in handcuffs.

DUI

William Smith, 59, Markham was charged with driving under the influence and alcohol concentration .08 or more in what was described as a traffic crash at 175th and Halsted at 10:41 p.m. on Dec. 5.

Retail Theft

Daniel Simpkins, 22, Cedar Lake, Indiana was charged with retail theft at Walmart, 17550 S. Halsted At. at 4:58 p.m. on Dec. 4. Simpkins concealed items and passed the final point of purchase without making payment for the merchandise which had a total retail value of $166.48.

Andrell Brown, 23, Chicago was charged with retail theft at Walmart at 9:56 a.m. on Dec. 7. Brown
exited the store without making payment for merchandise which had a total retail value of $399.00.
