Retail Thefts At Target, Home Depot: Homewood Police Blotter

Deceptive Practice
Marcus Smith, 21, of Chicago Heights was charged with felony identity theft at 6:09 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Best Buy, 17800 S. Halsted St. Smith tendered a fraudulent driver’s license that contained personal identification information that he did not have permission to use to purchase merchandise which had a total retail value of $2,499.98.

Steven Hutson, 33, of Riverdale was charged with felony aggravated identity theft at 8:42 p.m. on Sept. 28 at Walmart Fuel, 17540 S. Halsted St. Hutson used credit cards to purchase gasoline without the permission of the account holders.
DUI

Luis Trujillo Rocha, 30, of Blue Island was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, no driver's license - expired less than one year, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a BAC over .08 at 6:38 p.m. on Sept. 28 in the 17900 block of Dixie Highway.
Retail Theft
John Pangborn, 32, of the 1200 block of Olive Road was charged with retail theft - fraudulent return at Target, 17605 S. Halsted St. at 11:33 a.m. on Sept. 24. Pangborn selected an item from the sales area and presented the merchandise for a refund at customer service. The merchandise had a retail value of $119.
Leslie McDonald, 36, of Chicago and Wayne Allen, 46, of Calumet City were charged with retail theft at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 at Home Depot, 17845 S. Halsted St. McDonald and Allen placed items is a shopping cart and passed the final point of purchase without making payment for the merchandise, which had a total retail value of $998.
Darryl Jordan, 50, of Chicago was charged with retail theft at 2:37 p.m. on Sept. 20 at Jewel, 3153 W. 183rd St. Jordan concealed items and exited the store without making payment for the merchandise, which had a total retail value of $99.96.
Austin Granger, 23, of Momence was charged with retail theft at Kohl's, 17620 S. Halsted St. at 7:15 p.m. on Sept. 21.
Theft
Andre Shelton, 26, of the 1300 block of 186th Place was charged with theft of government property at 12:05 p.m. on Sept. 23 in the 18600 block of Poplar Avenue. Shelton removed a lawn mower, owned by the village, from a trailer without authorization from the owner.
