A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Sept. 10 to dedicate playground equipment at Wulf Park, 187th and Baker streets, in Country Club Hills (CCH). New equipment for the Ward 4 playground includes slides, monkey bars and swings equipped for children with disabilities.
CCH Park District Director Targett “TJ” Johnson said installation of the playground was made possible by a donation from the Clayco Foundation. The equipment was from Burke Playgrounds and installed by Play Illinois.
Mayor James Ford was joined by City Clerk Patricia Hutson, Ward 1 Alderman John Edwards, park district commissioners, representatives from Clayco and Park Illinois and community members.

“This project came together when CRG (a subsidiary of Clayco) came to town and they wanted to do something to help the community,” Ford said as he cut the ribbon. “This playground is used everyday by the residents, so this is a great thing.”
Alderman Edwards, who also heads the council’s Education committee, described the event the best of two worlds. “Park district and education tie in,” he said. “All young people should have the opportunity to enjoy themselves.”
