82-Year Old Woman Beaten To Death In Chicago Heights

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — An 82-year-old woman was found dead on the Chicago Heights block where she lived over the weekend. The death of Australia Landingham has been ruled a homicide, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Landingham was found dead in a home in the 2300 block of South Halsted Street in Chicago Heights at 5:45 p.m. on Sunday. An autopsy performed the next day indicated she died of multiple blunt force injuries in an assault.

Her home address was listed as a different home on the same street where she died.

Chicago Heights police continue to investigate the incident. It wasn't immediately known if anyone was in custody or if there are any suspects.
