Park Forest police charged the 16-year-old with a felony.
PARK FOREST, IL — A 16-year-old faces a felony charge after police in Park Forest say threats were made against Rich East High School this week.
A student at the school reported the threats to police and an investigation corroborated the allegations, police said in a news release. The offending juvenile did not have the means to carry out the specific threats however, police found.
The 16-year-old was taken to juvenile court on a felony disorderly conduct charge.

"With two arrests so far this school year for threats of violence against an educational facility in Park Forest, we continue to urge parents to discuss the seriousness of such threats with their children, and the admonition that all claims of threats are investigated and arrests made if they are determined to have occurred," police said.
"Finally, we thank the student for doing the right thing and reporting the threats to school staff, and for Rich East High School's full assistance and cooperation in the investigation."
