Shooting In Steger Sends Woman To Hospital

STEGER, IL — A 38-year-old woman was shot in the back on a street in Steger Thursday night. Police say the woman was found on Barbara Lane and is now in treatment at the trauma unit at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Police showed up around 11 p.m. after several residents in the area called them about shots having been fired in the area. Witnesses said three black men were seen running east on Barbara Lane before getting into a car and driving off, police said.

The shooting could be connected to another "shots fired" incident reported in the same area two days prior, police said.
