Successful Flossmoor Holiday House Walk in support of The Cancer Support Center
The Cancer Support Center and "Presenting Sponsor" Advocate South Suburban Hospital raised over $26,000 at the Holiday House Walk.
Flossmoor, Ill.— The Cancer Support Center and “Presenting Sponsor” Advocate South Suburban Hospital hosted the Holiday House Walk on November 22, 2014. Over 350 community members helped raise more than $26,000 for programs and services provided to those living with cancer, always free of charge. Guests also enjoyed a “Preview Party” on Fri., Nov. 21st, a Saturday luncheon, and shopping at a “Unique Boutique Gift Market” at Idlewild Country Club, 19201 Dixie Hwy, Flossmoor, IL 60422.
The four elegant Flossmoor homes displayed holiday decorating ideas to help the community get in the holiday spirit, while helping those living with a cancer diagnosis. Several local florists, including Eighner’s Florist, Greenleaf Florist, Homewood Florist and Kathy Kane, generously donated beautiful floral arrangements for the homes. House Patron sponsors included Art Van Furniture, Susan Jenner & Baird & Warner, the Mueller Family, and Leonard J. LeRose, Jr. LTD.
“I attribute the event’s success to the homeowners and volunteers,” said Traci Dominy, co-chair of this year’s event. “The support we received from them made for a great experience.”
“The beautiful, unique homes featured on the walk made for a wonderful event,” said Bridget Van Eekeren, co-chair of this year’s event. “Each of these families has a special reason for being part of this Holiday House Walk. Some have family members and friends affected by cancer. Each is moved by the mission of The Cancer Support Center to provide FREE comprehensive resources that help people improve their quality of life during the cancer experience.”
