Suspect In Custody After Incident At Walt's; Police Won't Confirm Rumors of Stabbing

A suspect is in custody following an incident Friday at Walt’s Food Center, 2345 183rd St. in Homewood.

“Today a random incident occurred in our store. A subject was detained and taken into custody by police,” said Walt’s Director Bob Reiff. “Due to the ongoing investigation, all further questions must be directed to Homewood police.”

Homewood police would not confirm reader reports of a stabbing occurring within the store.
