TJ Maxx Employee Made Fake Returns: Cops

Police Blotter: Homewood police made two recent arrests for retail theft at Walmart.

The following information is from the Homewood Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Speeding/Driving While Suspended

Shanequa Lumpkin, 24, of Calumet City was stopped in the 2200 block of 175th Street at 12:03 p.m. on May 18 and cited for speeding and driving while license suspended/revoked.

Uninsured Motor Vehicle/Driving While Suspended

Quentin Wright, 32, of Glenwood was stopped in the 17500 block of Halsted Street at 6:22 p.m. on May 18 for having a missing left mirror and was cited for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while suspended/revoked.

Allahshawnah Taylor, 25, of Chicago was stopped in the 17500 block of Dixie Highway at 8:12 p.m. on May 19 and cited for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended/revoked.

Dionna Phipps, 32, of Country Club Hills was stopped in the 18600 block of Kedzie Avenue at 8:23 a.m. on May 20 and cited for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended/revoked.

Melissa Vargas, 23, of Blue Island was stopped in the 18600 block of Dixie Highway at 12:05 p.m. on May 20 for failure to signal/improper signal and was cited for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended/revoked.

Darius Thomas, 22, of Lynwood was stopped in the 2900 block of Birch Road at 10:43 a.m. on May 21 and was cited for expired registration, operation of uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended/revoked.

Lashanda Mccormick, 34, of Markham was stopped in the 18600 block of Kedzie Avenue at 8:34 p.m. on May 23 and was cited for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended/revoked.

Improper Lighting/Driving While Suspended

Tearza Lee, 30, of Country Club Hills was stopped at 183rd Street and Park Avenue at 4:10 a.m. on May 22 and was cited for improper lighting and driving while license suspended/revoked.

Tinted Window/Driving While Suspended

Quincy Ruffin, 38, of Matteson was stopped in the 2100 block of 175th Street was stopped in the 2100 block of 175th Street at 10:03 a.m. on May 23 and was cited for tinted window/obstructed window and driving while license suspended/revoked.

Driving While Suspended

Heather Jenkins, 24, of the 3300 block of 185th Place was stopped in the 18500 block of Kedzie Street at 5:01 p.m. on May 21 and was cited for driving while license suspended/revoked.

Retail Theft

Leondo Street, 41, of Riverdale was charged with retail theft and obstructing identification at 1:18 p.m. on May 17 at Walmart, 17550 S. Halsted St. Street concealed miscellaneous items and passed the final point of purchase without making payment for the items which had a total retail value of $66.28. Street gave a fictitious name and date of birth.

Roderick Johnson, 59, of Markham was charged with retail theft and possession of theft detection device remover at 10:40 p.m. on May 22 at Walmart, 17550 S. Halsted St. Johnson concealed food items which were covered in theft detection material. Johnson additionally consumed food items while he was inside the store. The total retail value of all the food merchandise was $44.82.

Deceptive Practices

Tiffany Scott, 36, of Riverdale was charged with theft over $500 at 5:03 p.m. on May 23 at TJ Maxx, 17900 S. Halsted St. On several different dates, Scott, an employee of TJ Maxx, completed return transactions when a purchase was not made. The total value of these transactions was $1,446.50.
