Torch Run Comes Through Homewood, Flossmoor
Law enforcement officials in Homewood, Flossmoor and Hazel Crest participated in the Torch Run for Special Olympics of Illinois on Tuesday.

HOMEWOOD/FLOSSMOOR, IL - The Special Olympics Torch Run came through Homewood, Flossmoor and Hazel Crest on Tuesday. Law enforcement agencies throughout the country are taking part in similar events to raise funds for Special Olympics, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2018.
For the police departments in Illinois, that's to raise money for Special Olympics of Illinois. The torch is moved from town to town, relayed to another runner when it gets to the border.
