Two Franciscan St. James Blood Drives Kick-Off National Blood Donor Month

Hospital partners with Heartland Blood Centers to hold community blood drives at both campuses on Friday, January 2, 2015

Franciscan St. James Health is partnering with Heartland Blood Centers to host two community blood drives on Friday, January 2, 2015.

“Help us celebrate January National Blood Donor Month by taking just a short time to donate blood”, said Karen Yates, Franciscan St. James director of mission integration and volunteer services. “Because blood has a limited shelf-life, donors are in constant need - especially in high-demand months like January.”

The Olympia Fields Campus Community Blood Drive will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the mobile coach parked outside the Heart & Vascular Institute at 3800 W. 203rd St. To sign-up, call 708-747-4000, ext. 81740, or visit heartlandbc.org.

The Chicago Heights Campus Community Blood Drive will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Cornet Hall on the lower level of the main campus building at 1423 Chicago Road. To sign up, call 705-756-1000, ext. 56888, or visit heartlandbc.org.

“Blood donors get their biggest reward from knowing that their gift will help someone in our community spend more time with family, friends and loved ones,” Yates said.
